Behind the Booths: How Toy Creative Bring Our AI Activations to Life

A look at Toy Creative, the Watford design studio behind the custom vinyl wraps on every Primatix AI photo booth, video booth and trading card kiosk.

Our AI photo booths and trading card kiosks ship as sleek, white units, clean enough to drop into most brand activations and corporate events without looking out of place. For clients who want the booth itself to be part of the brand experience, we take it a step further: full custom vinyl wraps, designed and printed for the specific activation, on units that ship to events all over the world.

That extra step doesn't happen by accident. It's the work of Toy Creative, a small but seriously talented design, signage and print studio based in Watford, Hertfordshire. They've been our go-to vinyl wrap partner for the last 12 months, and what keeps us coming back is the same thing every event team needs: quick turnaround and a genuinely personal service. When you're delivering against tight event deadlines, both are non-negotiable.

What they actually do

Toy Creative describes themselves as a "Creative Design, Signage & Print Studio", and that combination is exactly why they work so well for us. A lot of print houses can turn a PDF into a vinyl panel. Far fewer can sit with a brand, interpret a brief, and design the artwork that goes onto that panel. Toy Creative do both, in-house, from one studio.

Their core services span:

  • Large-format print and vinyl signage
  • Vehicle and equipment wraps
  • Brand identity and graphic design
  • Window graphics, shop signage, retail display
  • Installation by their own crews

Their client list reads like a tour of recognisable brands: Coca-Cola, Caffè Nero, Xiaomi, Jeep, Glenmorangie, alongside a long list of independent restaurants, clinics and retail businesses they've helped build a physical brand presence for.

Why they're the right fit for our kiosks

A Primatix AI photo booth or trading card kiosk has to do something most signage projects don't: it has to look brand-new for a different client every weekend. One month it might be wrapped for a fintech keynote at ExCeL. The next, it's on the floor at a sports activation in Manchester.

That puts a very specific set of demands on our supplier:

  1. Fast turnaround. Event briefs land late. Artwork lands later. Toy Creative consistently turns around print and install windows we wouldn't dare ask of most studios.
  2. Print quality that holds up under venue lighting. Booth wraps get photographed all day. The colour has to match the brand guide, and the laminate has to survive being handled, transported and re-installed.
  3. Design as well as production. Sometimes a client gives us finished artwork. Sometimes they give us a logo and a colour reference. Toy Creative can take either input and produce something that looks intentional on the kiosk.
  4. A real human on the install. When something needs to be re-cut, re-aligned or finished on-site, having a partner who can show up is the difference between a hero booth and an embarrassing one.

How a typical project comes together

Most jobs follow the same rhythm. We get the event brief from our client, share the kiosk panel templates with the Toy Creative team, and they work the client's brand assets into a layout that reads cleanly on the booth: logos breathing, calls to action at eye level, brand colours landing where the cameras will see them.

Once the design is signed off, they print and laminate at their Watford studio and either install in-house or supply pre-cut panels for our crew to apply before the kit ships. By the time the kiosk lands at ExCeL, Olympia, the O2 or Tobacco Dock, it doesn't look like hired-in event kit. It looks like a permanent fixture of the client's brand world.

Working with the right people matters

Brand activations live or die on the details, and the physical booth is one of the first things a guest interacts with, well before the AI starts doing its thing. Having a partner like Toy Creative means we can promise our clients a kiosk that genuinely looks like part of their world, not a generic piece of event kit.

If you're running a brand of your own and you need signage, vinyl, vehicle wraps or print work done properly, take a look at what they do: toy-creative.com.

And if you're planning an AI photo booth, AI video booth, or AI trading card activation in the UK, we'll handle the AI side, and they'll make sure the booth looks every bit as good as the experience inside it.
